Living With Regret

Today let’s think about and talk about regret and the impact it has upon the psyche, your mental health and your physical health

The definition is an act of feeling sad or disappointed over something. This can be something that you have done or not done, said or not said, believed or not believed. Do you get the picture?

This can lead you to go over and over it in your mind, events, perceptions of events and their outcomes or possible outcomes.

What we are and think may not actually be the truth of the matter, yet we still harbour the feelings or regret.

This is a powerful emotion and one which can create disease within the mind and body.

The relentless thoughts and demons running riot and causing a negative mindset that only serves to perpetuate the feelings and beliefs around the regrets and/or all that you may regret in life to date.

If you can look or revisit a behaviour that you are not proud of we would ask that you recognise it for what it is/was and let it go.

A moment in time does not necessarily reflect your whole life, just a measure of time.

If you can apologise for what it is you need to apologise for, that can be very healing, if you are unable to, then practice self forgiveness.

Recognise that you are a divine being experiencing a human experience and at times it does not go according to plan.

Seek to offer the situation to a higher power for resolution.

Try not to hold/cling onto the issue, allow for it to be held up to the light whereby it will be penetrated by the highest light and integrity.

Allow yourself to be forgiven, allow yourself to be humble and allow yourself to heal all those broken parts that exist in the shadow and are hurting. All those early years and older years whereby you have learnt to shut off and shut down.

Allow yourself to feel, offer them up sincerely and work upon yourself in a self honouring and nurturing way. One where you feel safe to be vulnerable, one that holds space and one that allows you to unpack sensitively.

This may stir some difficult emotions, however it is necessary to enable you to move forward with ease and without the burdensome weight that you have been carrying.

Regrets highlight the need to step forwards in your life, a need to be 100% you and a need to not be afraid of making the right choices for you.

Regrets are usually based on well meaning advice from others and/or wanting to play it “safe”.

You are here upon this earth for a short term and to receive a full and varied experience.

Playing it safe or not owning your decisions and choices does not fulfil that.

Start living for you, your wants and needs as often as possible. Have firm boundaries in place or start to put boundaries in place.

Take consistent steps to where you want to be. Stop sacrificing your own needs for the sake of “others”. What is that teaching them and you?

Honour yourself as we honour you and allow the layers of conditioning to fall away one by one or for the brave all at once.

Once you do it, it starts a ripple effect, reaching far and wide. It also gives permission to others to do the same, so on and so forth, but as always it starts with you.

When you come before the one true source humbly and sincerely, it is a testament to you wanting to be freed from all lower sources of conditioning and control, it starts a process of remembering who you really are.
